Coppola writes again!
The last time Oscar-winning director Francis Ford Coppola wrote a screenplay it was The Conversation in 1974, and things turned out fairly well, to say the least. After a long hiatus, Coppola returned to filmmaking with the bizarre art film Youth Without Youth in 2007, but now Tetro—out this week in limited release—is his marked return to mainstream drama. Based loosely on Coppola’s life, Tetro is a drama about brothers that harkens back to 1983’s Rumble Fish. Vincent Gallo stars as Tetro, a manic depressive playwright whose younger brother tracks him down to Argentina to reconnect and help him finish his work so he will be recognized as a genius. Alden Ehrenreich and Maribel Verdú co-star. Rated R.
