Jorge and Ana Isaza’s Myrtles wine cellar – My Space
Old storage room. After many years of desiring a wine cellar we decided to jump into remodeling our house to make room for it. Working with our wonderful architect Jairo Leon we converted the tool room into a wine cellar that would house around a thousand bottles. We also wanted it to be an entertainment room, so we contracted with Vigilant Inc. to design the perfect showcase for our wines, and give it a cellar ambience that would be inviting.
Wrought iron table. We had our wrought iron man build the table that sits in the center of the room, and searching through my marble contractor’s junkyard, we found the beautiful and colorful piece of marble that sits on top of the table.
Showcase wines. We have collected some interesting wines over the years, and we have a few showcase bottles, as in the 2005 Clos Apalta, winner of wine of the year in 2008 by the Wine Spectator magazine. Some of our very close friends have also given us bottles like the Opus One. The most fun thing about it is sharing these and other bottles with our close friends and family.
Puppet dolls. Some of the figurines are actually Swiss corks that were decorated with puppet-like figures. They are the mascots of the wine cellar.
Wine boxes. These are from the different wineries we have visited in the past in different parts of the world. Many of them are signed by their winemakers.
