Look for Stiletto vodka this month, the super-premium spirit imported by a new Louisiana woman-owned company. The sleek brand features vodka from Kyrgyzstan distilled six times and filtered five, giving it “impeccable smoothness,” founders Teresa Glidewell and Donna Wagar say. The two were sick of their day jobs and trolling for new careers when they stumbled upon a premium vodka distiller through a web of friends and acquaintances. “It was sort of ‘six degrees of Kevin Bacon,’” Glidewell says. Not only did they set up shop in New Orleans to support the comeback, they plan to donate a portion of annual profits to women’s and children’s charities. Launched in September, Stiletto features subtly flavored vodkas in mint, chocolate and vanilla in addition to original.
