Crawfish season just getting started

With the start of Lent, crawfish is showing up in several restaurants and seafood markets across South Louisiana. Tony’s Seafood is selling the boiled red bugs for $3.89 a pound. Sammy’s Grill on Highland Road and in Zachary is selling boiled crawfish for $3.99 a pound, or you can dine in and order a 3-pound tray with corn and potatoes for $13.95. The owners of Country Corner on Perkins, which has been selling boiled crawfish for a month now ($3.99 a pound), foresee the prices rolling down in March.
