In the past year, Muscle Shoals’ Drive-By Truckers have seen guitarist Jason Isbell depart for a solo career, been Betty LaVette’s backing band and released an eighth album (Brighter Than Creation’s Dark) that will no doubt top best-of lists at the end of the year.
