In the past year, Muscle Shoals’ Drive-By Truckers have seen guitarist Jason Isbell depart for a solo career, been Betty LaVette’s backing band and released an eighth album (Brighter Than Creation’s Dark) that will no doubt top best-of lists at the end of the year. The band stops at The Varsity on Monday, Sept. 29, but you should get your tickets as soon as possible. Doors at 8 p.m. Show at 9 p.m. $20. 18 and up.
