Speed races to DVD

The much-beloved 1980s J-pop cartoon came full-blown and rendered in mesmerizing CGI Prismacolor last spring, and now the break-neck adventure has arrived on DVD. Emile Hirsch stars as Speed, a young, naturally gifted driver gunning for first place in The Crucible, a dangerous cross-country race that claimed the life of his older brother, Rex. When a corporate sponsor conspires to keep Speed from winning, he must form an unlikely alliance with his former rival, the mysterious Racer X, rely on his gal Trixie and his family for help in this visually stunning family film.
