Rwandan survivor, author returns to B.R. this weekend

She packed an entire LSU auditorium just weeks ago for a book signing of Left to Tell, the read for One Book One Community. Immaculee Ilibagiza returns to Baton Rouge to share her stories as part of a premiere annual project by Echad Awakening and the LSU Office of Equity, Diversity and Community Development to sustain conscious, positive community growth. Several local nonprofits, faith-based groups, businesses and sponsors are teaming up to embrace diversity in Baton Rouge, and they’ll use a video of Ilibagiza’s talk Saturday as an educational tool for local schools. Enjoy a mini-drama by Michael Rick of Swine Palace as well as art, food, music, compelling roundtable discussions and book signings. 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Tickets are $25; students pay $10.
