Homegrown rock unplugged

Meriwether’s home! Much has changed since the local four-piece rock group left Baton Rouge to tour the nation with a Suretone Records (an off-shoot of the major label Interscope) deal in hand. They added a fifth member and lost their original drummer, and are about to release their second album, Sons of Our Father. But before hitting the road again to do one-off gigs with big-timers Sevendust and Hawthorne Heights, they will play a stripped-down acoustic set at Northgate Tavern on Thursday, Aug. 14. Don’t miss this intimate show in this intimate venue. 10 p.m. $5. 18 and up.
