Miss Gay Louisiana Pageant starts Thursday

Two-inch long false eyelashes. Wigs as platinum as Dolly Parton’s. More feather boas than a Spanish Town Mardi Gras ball. It’s the best lip-synching show on this side of the Mississippi River. The 18th annual Miss Gay Louisiana America Pageant at Splash features several drag queens vying for the title of the fairest lady in the land. Count on seeing celebrity queens, such as 2007’s winner Chelsea Divine and this year’s national winner Mikaila Kay of Arizona. The action starts at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 and again at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15.
