Left to Tell readers can finally meet Rwandan author

She stood in a tiny, damp bathroom for 91 days, cramped in with seven other women. On Thursday evening she’ll stand in a 1,000-seat auditorium, sharing her story of survival of the bloody genocide in Rwanda in 1994 and how she found the power of prayer. Immaculée Ilibagiza, author of Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust, will speak at the LSU Cox Communications Academic Center for Student Athletes. Left to Tell is the summer selection for Baton Rouge’s One Book One Community, which encourages residents to read and discuss issues found in literature. 7 p.m. Free and open to the public.
