Sci-fi meets biblical women at B.R. Gallery’s monthly opening
This show is sure to be a conversation starter. Baton Rouge Gallery is pairing ULL art professor Cody Bush of Carencro and Alexandria resident Preston Gilchrist for its August art exhibition. Bush, a sculptor and jewelry maker, shares his exhibit, Compositus, influenced by science fiction, industrial aesthetics and technology. Gilchrist, artistic director for Alexandria’s River Oaks Art Center, will deliver The Daughters of Eve, which examines the ladies of the Bible. The exhibit opens Sunday, Aug. 3, with an opening reception from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6. Free
