Save next weekend for the hot-air balloon championship

All eyes to the sky as the Louisiana Ballooning Championship begins Aug. 8 and runs through the weekend. Each day starts with a race and keeps your gaze upward with mass balloon ascensions, parachute performances, balloon glows and fireworks to finish. The Children’s Village — complete with pony rides, face painting, crafts and more — will be available for the little ones, as will a half-mile Kids Fun Run. Adult entertainment on land includes a 3.2K Fun Run and live music on the Entertainment Stage every evening.
