Round 2 of downtown dance party, outdoor movie

More than 2,000 people showed up last weekend for the Mid Summer Night Dance Party, and even more are expected for Friday’s Southern Night Under the Oaks featuring music by Sweet Root and a screening of Tim Burton’s Big Fish. Bring your lawn chairs around 6 p.m. to Lafayette Park in front of the Shaw Center, and stay for the outdoor movie screening at 9:15 p.m. Capital City Grill will be open, and Boudreaux & Thibodeaux will grill hamburgers. Free.
