New X-Files flick lands in theaters Friday
When last we left special agents Mulder and Scully, the FBI outcasts were…well, have even hardcore fans of the former FOX series ever been completely sure? Luckily, with The X-Files: I Want to Believe, director Chris Carter is seeking to introduce new fans to his world of government conspiracies and the paranormal. So you don’t have to watch all nine seasons to enjoy this tense thriller involving a disgraced priest and a series of kidnappings. Believe eschews both the “monster-of-the-week” theme of many of the TV show’s episodes and the epic, conspiracy-heavy film X-Files: Fight the Future to focus on the main characters in a tightly-woven drama. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return as Mulder and Scully. Billy Conolly and Amanda Peet co-star.
