These Baton Rouge bars are getting into the spooky spirit with specialty cocktails and themed pop-ups

Thirsty for spooky sips? Check out these ghoulish spots 🍸👻

Halloween is creeping into Baton Rouge’s bar scene, with themed cocktail pop-ups, spooky decor, and seasonal drinks, making the Capital Region the perfect place to celebrate.

For locals and visitors alike, there’s no shortage of themed parties and drinks paired with spooky atmospheres.

The Station Bar & Grill is joining the festivities with The Haunting at The Station, a Halloween-themed cocktail experience running throughout October.

The concept comes from the creators behind Miracle and Sippin’ Santa, popular Christmas-themed cocktail pop-ups that transform bars into immersive holiday destinations. The Haunting brings a spooky atmosphere to participating bars through its decor, themed cocktails and limited-edition collectibles.

“We always go all out for Halloween. We just leveled up this year,” says The Station owner Emily Graham.

Preparing for the pop-up takes more than decorating. Some cocktails require upwards of 11 ingredients, including handmade syrups and items that can be difficult to source. For a high-volume bar like The Station, serving hundreds of customers ordering specialty drinks can make for a hectic night.

The menu features a range of flavors, with a choice for everyone.

“It’s really cool to not have a bunch of sweet drinks. We have spicy, sweet, sour, and they’re all just a flavor explosion of unexpected tastes,” Graham says.

The menu features cocktails like the Widow’s Whisper, Scream-sicle, Poison Apple, Liquid Lobotomy and Clown Pear-anoia. Mocktails are also available, and guests can purchase limited-edition cocktail mugs.

Her personal favorite is the Liquid Lobotomy, a tropical-inspired cocktail served in a baby doll head goblet.

The Haunting is open through the end of October. The Station is open from Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. It’s also bringing back its Halloween block party for a two-day celebration Oct. 30-31.

To celebrate beyond drinks, the Third Street Fright Fest features participating bars including Dark 30, Somewhere Neighborhood Bar, O’Haras Irish Pub, Danny’s Dive Bar and Grill and Squeaky Pete’s. The House of Halloween Bar Crawl is another option featuring 13 Social, Bayes Oyster Bar, Blend, King Bar & Bistro, River Room and The Vintage Baton Rouge.

Whether it’s a themed cocktail, an over-the-top bar transformation or a night out with friends, Baton Rouge has several more ways to celebrate Halloween throughout October. Cheers and happy haunting!
