Attend a country music concert Friday

This Friday, Sept. 4, country artist Koe Wetzel makes a stop in Baton Rouge during his world tour with special guests Ole 60, Bayker Blankenship and Logan Jahnke.

The musician behind the three-time platinum hit “High Road” will take the stage at the Raising Cane’s River Center, located at 275 S. River Rd.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are available online. 

Laugh at improv comedy Friday

Improv comedy troupe Butterr & Friends returns to Manship Theatre this Friday, Sept. 4, for an unscripted comedy event.

From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Butterr and two guest improv teams will perform a one-of-a-kind show influenced by the audience. 

Tickets are $14, and Manship Theatre is located at 235 North Blvd.

Read and create Saturday

This Saturday, Sept. 5, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum invites children ages 3 to 8 and their accompanying adults to a Read and Create program featuring local author Julie Becnel.

At 11 a.m., Becnel will read her new book Roux’s First Day, then guests will complete a hands-on craft inspired by the book.

LASM is located at 100 S. River Rd. This program is included with museum admission and is free for LASM members.

College football is back in Baton Rouge with LSU taking on Clemson in its season opener and Southern University battling Kentucky State University at its first home game of the season. 

LSU’s game will begin at 6:30 p.m., and Southern University will begin playing at 6 p.m. 

Make collages at the LSU Museum of Art Sunday

During this First Free Sunday on Sunday, Sept. 6, the LSU Museum of Art invites guests to explore the Folk Art Gallery and try their hand at collage portraits inspired by the works.

The Folk Art Gallery features works from the American Folk Art Museum and will be displayed in Baton Rouge until April 2027.

The LSU Museum of Art is located at 100 Lafayette St. It will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.
