Discover Nature Tuesday
Dean Wilson, executive director of Atchafalaya Basinkeeper, will visit the Hilltop Arboretum on Tuesday, Aug. 25, to share a presentation on challenges facing the Atchafalaya Basin as part of the arboretum’s Discover Nature program.
From 6:30 to 8 p.m., guests can learn from this expert about maintaining the basin, fighting erosion and reducing flood risks.

Learn about artist George Rodrigue Tuesday
The Louisiana Art & Science Museum has just debuted an exhibition featuring various works by Louisiana artist George Rodrigue.
A Blue Dog-themed Art After Hours event featuring Wendy Rodrigue will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
LASM is located at 100 S. River Rd. Participation costs $16 for non-member adults and $13 for non-member children and seniors. Educators can also attend for free. Preregister here.
Listen to New Orleans jazz music Wednesday
The Batiste Legacy Sessions bring New Orleans trumpeter and vocalist Jeremy Davenport to Cary Saurage Community Arts Center on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
The jazz musician will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with a string accompaniment.

Fête Rouge is an annual food-and-wine event featuring more than 30 competing culinary creations and more than 250 world-class wines to try.
