Play in a cornhole tournament Wednesday

Court to Table hosts a competitive and beginner blind draw cornhole tournament every Wednesday from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m.

Venue fee is $5, the competitive entry fee is $30 and the beginner entry fee is $10.

Sip on some local history Wednesday

As CC’s Coffee House celebrates its 30-year anniversary, the East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Special Collections Department Lecture Series will share a presentation on the history of the establishment. 

Attend the program for free on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m. at the Main Library at Goodwood, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.


See artifacts from Global Wildlife Center Thursday

On Thursday, Aug. 20, Global Wildlife Center returns to the LSU Rural Life Museum with an educational display featuring a collection of real horns, antlers and other bioartifacts.

This interactive table will be available for all general admission guests and museum members from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Watch a youth production of Hadestown Thursday or this weekend

Sullivan Theater Youth Company has added additional performance dates to its production of the hit folk opera Hadestown: Teen Edition on Aug. 20, 22 and 23. 

Watch the timeless Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone reframed in the setting of Depression-era New Orleans.
