Take a break from cooking at these Baton Rouge restaurants open Christmas Day 2018
Some years, cooking a Christmas spread is a battle not worth fighting. We know several chains like iHOP (or is it iHOB?) are open on Christmas Day, but finding local eateries planning to open their doors on the 25th can be a bit more of an undertaking. Luckily, we’ve done the work for you and compiled a list of some of the Capital City restaurants keeping their doors open for the holiday.
Crowne Plaza
11 a.m.-1 p.m.
This hotel on Constitution Avenue is hosting a special Christmas Day lunch buffet with gumbo, a cold seafood display and a carving station with honey-glazed baked ham, leg of lamb and roast turkey with gravy. Entrées include bacon-wrapped pork loin stuffed with boudin and mirliton and shrimp dressing. The buffet is $28 for adults, $22 for seniors 65 and older, $14 for children ages 6-12, and free for children younger than 6. Seating is available on the hour. Call 224-7030 to make reservations.
Hunan Chinese Restaurant
11 a.m.-10 p.m.
If curling up on the sofa under blankets eating Chinese takeout sounds like the ideal way to spend your Christmas, then you’ll want to hit up Hunan. We hear fried rice, lo mein and egg foo young pair nicely with a good Christmas movie. Call 292-4462.

Little Village on Airline
11 a.m.-5 p.m.
If you’re in the mood for Italian food with a little Louisiana flair, you will be happy to know that this Italian restaurant is open for business with its full dinner menu and chef’s specials. That’s right, that means all the spaghetti and seafood gumbo your heart could possibly desire will be just one visit away. Call 751-4115.
Omi Chinese Cuisine & Sushi Bar
11 a.m.-10 p.m.
The restaurant and sushi bar will be open, serving its full menu of Chinese and Japanese noodles, fried rice, sushi rolls, hibachi and more. Call 769-6565.
Stab’s Prime Restaurant
11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Those really looking to treat themselves on Christmas should certainly keep this steak and seafood restaurant as an option. Stab’s will be serving its full dinner menu with chef’s specials. From filet mignon to prime rib to lobster, our mouths are watering just reading the menu. Call 361-0797 for reservations. Pro tip: Don’t sleep on the desserts, which include bananas foster flamed in brandy and served with ice cream, white chocolate bread pudding and Carnegie Deli New York cheesecake with your choice of topping.
Stinky’s Fish Camp
10 a.m.-3 p.m.
You’re sure to work up quite the appetite opening your presents from Santa Christmas morning. If that’s the case, you might want to check out Stinky’s Christmas brunch buffet at The Marriott Hotel, complete with stone-ground pepper jack grits, french toast and a mimosa and bloody mary bar. Sullivan’s Steakhouse
Noon-8 p.m.
Just in time for lunch and dinner, Sullivan’s will offer its full regular menu as well as its Christmas menu for all your holiday needs. The Christmas menu is a hand-carved prime rib served with garlic horseradish mashed potatoes and horseradish sauce for $44 for 12 ounces and $48 for 16 ounces. Still hungry? Add a side—Brussels sprouts, fresh asparagus, fresh broccoli, white cheddar and bacon au gratin potatoes and cream style spinach—for an additional cost.
Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar

If you’re craving some Asian fare, stop by this Vietnamese restaurant, which will be serving its regular menu all day long. Choose from a variety of pho, soups and rice dishes.
