Celebrate local creators at the Baton Rouge Mini Maker Faire Oct. 6

Show and tell like you’ve never seen it before—this Saturday at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, you can explore the inventiveness and creativity of locals who have the DIY spirit.

At the Baton Rouge Mini Maker Faire, “makers” from Baton Rouge and the surrounding area will showcase their inventions and creations in an inviting, easy-to-access setting.

Maker faires are hosted year-round throughout the world. The concept was originated in 2006 by the editors of Make: Magazine. It has since expanded into an international phenomenon, with both flagship and independently hosted events (read more about the project’s history here).

Makers at this Saturday’s event will be showcasing everything from virtual reality technology to rubber band helicopters. See a full list of makers here.

The Baton Rouge Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, Oct. 6, is free to attend. The event runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The East Baton Rouge Parish Library is at 7711 Goodwood Blvd.
