Red Stick native country artist CJ Solar performs at The Texas Club Aug. 31
Arguably the most popular country artist to ever come out of Baton Rouge, singer-songwriter CJ Solar is returning to his hometown this Friday for an intimate performance at The Texas Club.
Blending elements of traditional country music, Southern rock and soulful blues, Solar has made a name for himself in both Baton Rouge and Nashville. His debut EP, Hard One to Turn Down, was released in 2016—its lead single, “Tall Boy,” remains his most popular song with more than 2 million plays on Spotify.
Solar has also established himself as a successful songwriter, recently cowriting several popular records with his fellow country artists. Such records include Jerrod Niemann’s “The Regulars,” Morgan Wallen’s “Up Down” and Kyle Park’s “What the Heaven,” among others.

He’s showing no signs of slowing, either. He was recently asked to open for rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd on select dates of their “Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour” alongside 38 Special and Hank Williams Jr.
Tickets for CJ Solar’s performance at The Texas Club on Friday, Aug. 31, are $10. VIP tickets are also available for $20—these get you access to a meet-and-greet with Solar and light finger foods. Purchase either here.
Doors open at 8 p.m., and Solar takes the stage at 9:30 p.m. The Texas Club is at 456 N. Donmoor Ave.
