Description: The LSU Union Great Performances Theater Series once again brings the best of music, comedy and theater to Baton Rouge. This year’s performances include Hairspray, Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway, Lost in Yonkers and Soweto Gospel Choir. All performances will take place in the LSU Union Theater.
The first performance of the series is 100 Years of Broadway, Neil Berg’s widely acclaimed musical revue of Broadway’s most celebrated shows, featuring a dazzling cast of five stars accompanied by an all-star New York band. The show recreates the biggest moments from the biggest shows of the century, featuring the actual stars of shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Jekyll & Hyde. These amazing performers light up the stage with songs from the hit shows in which they starred. The revue features brilliantly revived arrangements of classics as well as fantastic numbers from the newest hit shows. Currently scheduled to star in this production are Rob Evan (Jekyll & Hyde, Jekyll & Hyde; Jean Valjean, Les Miserables), Mandy Gonzalez (Amneris, Aida), Rita Harvey (Christine, The Phantom of the Opera), William Michals (Beast and Gaston, Beauty and the Beast), and Danny Zolli (Jesus, Jesus Christ Superstar).
Season ticket prices for all four shows are on sale now and range from $107-133 for the general public; $90-116 for Union members, faculty and staff; and $45-58 for students. Individual tickets go on sale September 5. A limited number of series tickets will be sold and can be charged to MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Tiger Cash.
