PawPaw Durr,

This is my Grandfather, a great man and very inspiring. He is one of the biggest reasons of why i joined the U.S. Navy, as a child i would spend hours building castles out of his old rolled up newspapers, while he and my dad talked of their time spent in the Navy. I'm not sure if they knew but i was listening and imagining what it was like. I'm 21 these days and a Navy Corpsman (medic), I think because of his good nature and determination it soaked into my life through my dad, probably why i chose to help people as my primary field. I've never really gotten the chance to have a one on one with him but i do admire his strength and will, he inspires me to perform my duties to the best of my abilities and beyond. For those of you who know him, It means a lot to know how ya'll portray him, and in my eyes he's one of the greatest mean to walk this earth and an amazing grandfather, i'm not sure if he knows i think that though.
