Sunday Blue Laws have always been unfair for Christians who observe the 7th Day Sabbath, such as Jews, 7th Day Baptists, 7th Day Adventists, Church of God 7th Day, etc. Of course, these folks usually don't buy or drink alcoholic beverages, but Sunday has traditionally been accepted by governments to be the "right" day to observe the Sabbath, although the constitution forbids government to give preferential treatment to one religious group or another.
By the way, there is still a law on the books in East Baton Rouge Parish that forbids the selling of shoestrings and sewing notions on Sunday! (Wonder why they don't enforce that!)
