A recent pit bull attack happened again. This time to a 72 year old man who was working in his yard. The neighbor's 3 dogs were running loose, and the two that attacked the 72-yr old resident of Baton Rouge were pit bulls. It's fairly simple: These controlled species must be discriminated against. It's a proven number. How many poodles do you know of causing these types of injuries? How many chihuahuas cause this type of bodily harm and this type of long-term trauma? For once, we need to care for these pit bulls and ban them from the Baton Rouge, if not the state of Louisiana, so that they're not being euthanized by the dozens. For those who are opposing the breed-discriminatory legislation should think about the abuse majority of these pit bulls undergo - they need to stop thinking of themselves and start thinking of these poor animals who suffer by death because of the genetic makeup of a pit bull along with irresponsible owners. For those who oppose it, how much do they know about the history of pit bulls. There's so much selfishness going on in the world, and not enough care for others. I'm currently working on strengthening the dog law for Louisiana.I guarantee you if a political figure or a councilman's child or someone working for the state undergoes what this 72-year old man experienced, I bet there would be hell at City Hall. But know that, anyone can suffer the same fate as long as these dogs break out of their contained area....assuming the dog owners have one. Worse of all, they blame the 72-year old man for picking up a stick and hitting the dog as they mauled and feast on his legs. They also made a derogatory comment that he 'ate dogs.' What ignorance and racially motivated comment to make especially when the victim lies on his back, legs reclined, and a continuous moaning from the sharp pains shooting from the dog bite areas and the fall when the pit bull pounced on him. I can't even imagine how traumatic this could have been. The owners yanked the dogs off of him, and never said a word to him while he laid there bleeding to death.
