Two exciting exhibitions of devotional art, one traditional and one modern, are coming to the Louisiana Art and Science Museum this fall—Tradition in Transition: Russian Icons in the Age of the Romanovs and Marc Chagall: The Bible Series. Both the work of Russian artists, the exhibits depict stories from the old and new Testaments through figurative and abstract interpretations, the Icons beautifully painted and richly ornamented and Chagall’s work a collection of 30 hand-colored etchings. The exhibition is unique to LASM and cannot be seen at any other museum in the region. The show hangs through Jan. 6.
