Hot Lunch: American Market

What does former LSU wide receiver Michael Clayton miss most about home, now that he lives in Tampa? Naturally, a Cajun turkey sammich from American Market on Nicholson. The longtime campus haunt is mostly a family-owned convenience store, but magic happens when Cuban bread piled high with deli meats are seared in the sandwich press. Forget paninis. A.M. was pressing before pressing was cool. A soda pop and pocket-sized bag of Zapp’s chips round things out, and still comes in for under five bucks.

Love it. I used to live near AM Mart. I would always get the roast beef. Now I travel a little ways to enjoy my AM Mart.
