1. Vintage 1970s ochre vinyl chairs. Our home is two small houses joined by a foyer, designed and built by Kaarlo Oivanki. This room is part of the later, 1969 addition. We bought these chairs at the Louisiana State Auction, held the second Saturday of each month, for $35.

2. Sculptural lamp. In 1998 I created this as part of a series with steel, wood, and treated cloth.

3. Vintage 1970s vinyl sofa. This is the sofa that brought us together. Jennifer bought it at a thrift store in Little Rock then commissioned a mutual friend to get me to help bring it to her apartment since I owned a truck. That is how our relationship started nine years ago.

4. Ikea coffee table. Every year we go to my dad’s in Houston for Thanksgiving and we go the day before to Ikea. All day. I’m serious, all day. This year we were there for eight-and-a-half hours. They do have some yummy food at the Ikea Café.
