When it’s time to take your tips in for a tune-up around here, how do you choose? The names certainly don’t make the decision any easier. Just scan the phone book and you’ll find hundreds of nail salons with names ranging from the demure sounding Classy Nails to the vampy Sexy Nails.
What gives? Is there a difference between Princess Nails and Queen Nails, other than the obvious royal succession? What about Daisy Nails and Tulip Nails? We began to wonder how nail salons came up with their creative names. However, after speaking to several salon owners we realized, in the end, it’s just a name.
Most say they tried to think of a name that would be feminine or conjure ideas of glamour. Kevin Nguyen, owner of Nail Finiti on Siegen Lane, says he put a lot of thought into naming his salon.
Nguyen and his staff travel to tradeshows several times a year and try to stay abreast of the latest nail trends. Nail Finiti, he says, is a testament to his customers. It’s a promise he and his staff will not stop until they have delivered exceptional service.
“Most salons put the word nail at the end,” he says. “We put it at the front because it is what we do best, and we want people to know that.” ¬
