Description: Long a favorite in Baton Rouge, many people still cite the last time they heard Charmer, known for it’s eclectic songs, powerful family “blood harmonies”, and always intriguing presentation. With constant humor and interplay between siblings Dudley-Brian, Bob & Joel Smith, Charmer was a long-standing concert favorite, opening shows with such legendary acts as Arlo Guthrie, John Prine, Nanci Griffith, Louisiana’s LeRoux and Jesse Winchester among many. Singer/songwriter Jan Dedon Smith joined the group in 1983 and the quartet would ultimately release eight albums of original material.
