Red Stick International Animation Festival

The fourth annual Red Stick International Animation Festival, hosted by LSU’s Center for Computation & Technology is back.

Description: The fourth annual Red Stick International Animation Festival, hosted by LSU’s Center for Computation & Technology, will bring several respected artists, animators, filmmakers, and computer scientists to Baton Rouge. They will give workshops and lectures on the latest developments in digital arts and technology, a leading force for economic development in Louisiana.

Events will appeal not only to those presently in or aspiring to careers in fields related to digital arts. Also featured will be several high-definition animation screenings for families and the annual festival highlight, Cartoon-a-Palooza, which will be held Saturday, April 19, at the Old State Capitol. Sky-Scan will feature a special performance by J. Walt on Friday, April 18, at LASM’s Irene W. Pennington Planetarium. Walt will create animation in a live performance, projecting images onto the planetarium’s domed ceiling.
