Second Saturday: Media Matters

When: Saturday, April 12, 2008, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: LSU Museum of Art, 100 Lafayette St 100, Shaw Center of the Arts, Baton Rouge

Cost: Not available

Age limit: All ages

Categories: Family, Art (ongoing), Children, Museum exhibits

Description: Artists in the current exhibition, “An Adventure in the Arts,” utilized a wide variety of art media in the work they created. But not everyone who visits the exhibition knows how a screen-print is made, or what oil paints smell like, or how paper pulp feels. This event is an opportunity for artists to provide some insight and guidance as visitors experiment with a variety of art media. Supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult who is prepared to provide assistance. This experience is part of the Second Saturdays at Shaw program, which is supported through a grant from the Pennington Family Foundation
