In advance of the Foundation for Historical Louisiana’s “Fabulous Forties” Gala on October 25, jitterbug lessons will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Mansion’s East Room. Dance Instructor is Beverly Cook. Cost is free to members of the Foundation and all are invited to join Baton Rouge’s historic preservation organization. Already a member, a small donation will do. On gala night jitterbug and 40s costume contests will be held. Anyone signed up for jitterbug lessons can receive a complimentary cocktail from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Boudreaux’s & Thibodeaux’s on Third Street on lesson night.
