Description: Reverand Hawley Wolfe presents a special performance of his play, “The Name of the Rain,” an emotional and psychological account of evacuees in days after Hurricane Katrina.
The material for this fictional play was compiled during the two weeks Broadmoor Presbterian Church served as a shelter after Katrina. As Wolfe organized and facilitated the shelter he took note of the volunteers, victims, doctors, FEMA and Red Cross works, ministers and artists who played a roll in the extraordinary rescue effort.
Baton Rouge Gallery is hosting a one time reading of this personal and moving story April 19 at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
