Popular sing-off shooting promos, possible auditions in Baton Rouge

After multiple celebrity sightings Thursday and Kevin Kimball of TJ Ribs posting to Facebook that his restaurant made a late night delivery to Mariah Carey—the pop star ordered fried green tomatoes, red beans and baby back ribs—225 can confirm that American Idol is in Baton Rouge shooting promotional videos with Three (One) O, a production company, as well as official auditions that could end up airing as part of Season 12 of the hit Fox series.

Carey, along with new judges Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban have been seen in downtown Baton Rouge. Longtime judge Randy Jackson, a Baton Rouge native, is also here, as well as host Ryan Seacrest, who was spotted filming a promo near Hotel Indigo yesterday.

Security is tight, says 225's source who is close to the shoot but requested anonymity.

The schedule is in flux, and the show's arrival has been described as a “last minute” decision, but Idol is expected to wrap its Baton Rouge shooting this evening, or at the latest, tomorrow.

Bad Guys, Good Eats! Pop-Up Dinner at Restaurant IPO

Chef and 225 contributor Jay D. Ducote and Chef Chris Wadsworth hosted the Bad Guys, Good Eats! dinner at Restaurant IPO Wednesday night. The dinner was themed around famous movie villains, pairing cocktails and ales with plates of food resembling famous baddies like The Joker, Lord Voldemort, Hannibal Lector, and many others. The highlights of the night were the three middle courses—a black bean soup laced with blood sausage to signify Lord Voldemort, a brace of coneys on black eyed peas resembling Sauron, and lamb medallions atop a fava bean puree to pay homage to the famous favorite of Hannibal Lector.
