Pig and Plough Suppers hosts dinner at Beausoleil in June

A Lafayette slow food dinner series that celebrates local foods, chefs and organizations working together heads across the Atchafalaya Basin to Baton Rouge this June.

Nathan Gresham of Beausoleil, Jay Ducote of Bite and Booze and Jeremy Connor of Village Café in Lafayette will team up for Pig and Plough Suppers’ inaugural Capital City event Monday, June 2, at Beausoleil. The Trade Winds dinner kicks off at 6 p.m. and will include passed hors d’oeuvres then main courses at 7 p.m. as well as music from Seth Allen Rung and Bob Brahan. Tickets are $85.

Gresham, Ducote and Connor will be exploring migratory flavors of West Africa, the Caribbean and southern Louisiana throughout multiple courses at the dinner. Proceeds from the event will benefit Cooking Matters, part of the Slow Food Baton Rouge initiative that teaches families how to shop for and cook healthy, affordable meals. —Matthew Sigur
