A new afternoon location for the Red Stick Mobile Farmers Market has been announced.

ExxonMobil YMCA at 7717 Howell Blvd. will host the mobile market Tuesdays 3 p.m.-6 p.m. The move began this week with a grand opening, featuring a cooking demonstration by Chef Celeste Gill of Louisiana Treasures and a musical performance from The John Gray Jazz Band. Additional mobile market displays will be hosted May 19 and every Tuesday in June and July.

The mobile site features a variety of seasonal farm-fresh produce including tomatoes, squash, cabbage and strawberries from the same farmers who attend the downtown Red Stick Farmers Market.

The pop-up market will also include nutrition and fitness education and accepts several payment options, including cash, credit and debit cards, SNAP/EBT, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons.
