Dine Roundup: Walk-On’s expands beyond Louisiana and more

Baton Rouge-based Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar will open its first location outside of Louisiana soon, according to a press release. Last week, co-founder Brandon Landry announced that Jared and Heather Burnett have finalized an agreement with Landry to open a Walk-On’s in Lubbock, Texas.

The couple also has ownership stakes in West Crust Pizza, Healthy Meals to Go and Twisted Root Burger Co. in Lubbock.

The new Walk-On’s location will measure roughly 7,500 square feet with seating for nearly 300 guests.

Raising Cane’s CEO cuts a check to Kidd’s Kids
Raising Cane’s founder and CEO Todd Graves presented a check for $50,000 to Kidd’s Kids last week. Kidd’s Kids is a charitable organization started by radio host Kidd Kraddick. The organization serves terminally and chronically ill children. With the donation, Raising Cane’s has donated more than $250,000 to the organization since 2012.

For the fourth year in a row, Raising Cane’s locations nationwide will also serve as donation points for the annual Kidd’s Kids Day Oct. 21. Customers can make a donation in any amount at certain locations. Participating nationwide locations will also donate 15% of net proceeds from the day’s sales to Kidd’s Kids.
