The former Louie’s Café building at 209 West State St. will reopen this summer as The State Bar.
Owner Shane Courrege, who first disclosed plans for a bar at the site last fall, says construction resumed at the site last week after a delay that arose during the permitting process. He hopes it will be complete within 60 days.

“It’s not a very big place and we’re using a lot of what is existing,” he says. “So the scope of work is not very huge.”
Courrege and his business partner in the venture, chef Luis Macedo, signed a lease for the 2,000-square-foot space last fall from building and Louie’s Café owner Jimmy Wetherford.
