It’s National Farmers Market Week. To celebrate, the Red Stick Farmers Market will host special events and activities.

Fresh produce and gourmet frozen meals-to-go will be available as part of the regular farmers market festivities, running 8 a.m.-noon at Fifth and Main streets Saturday, Aug. 8. If raining, the market will be located in the Galvez Plaza parking garage.

Inside the Main Street Market, Mestizo chef Jim Urdiales will host a special cooking demonstration at 10 a.m. Children will also be able to participate in farmer art activities.

Seasonal markets are closed for the summer as farmers transition into fall crops. However, the Saturday market will remain open every weekend.
