I went to the Iberville Museum on a recent Thursday and would like to share some of my thoughts concerning it. It really is a nice effort. I love local histories, and the museum does an okay job of relaying local history. However, do not go there expecting an engaging or inspiring visit. It will not stimulate your mind. It seems as though the curator must be from out of town because he didn't seem knowlegable or interested in the local community history. It's also small, with a very limited number of exhibits. I, for one, was not very stimulated by an old stethescope from a dead doctor who must have been prominent in the area. Better exhibits should be found to draw more people from other areas. All in all, I would say don't go there. There are too many other marvellous attractions nearby, such as Nottoway, Madewood, and other historic sites. It's just a waste of an out-of-towner's time. Leave the museum to the few locals.
