Great review. The good word's getting out about A Taste of Asia. I've seen sandal-clad university kids along side power lunch businessmen, our mayor-president and executive chefs from other notable establishments - all with the same large grin and half-open eyes. It's that look of sublime contentement of having savored a really fine meal.
Love seafood? All dishes are recommended! Absoluetly the freshest gulf shrimp, melt-in-your mouth scallops, or try a daily special of mixed veggies and sushi grade fillet . Like it sweet? Try Pad Thai or Orange Beef. Spice is my thing. The menu points out 20 entrees that deliver the heat. I believe I may have tried them all. The curries are delicious - I reallly dig Panang style. The hottest thing I've ever eaten, Thai Hot & Sour Beef Salad, is a fiery sweet treat. Since all dishes are prepared individually, you call the degree of heat you want. I can't believe I'm up to 4 of those scorching little peppers! Want healthy? I counted a dozen vegetarian dishes, 5 or so salads and theres a couple of homemade soups that will bring you back again and again. Lemon Grass Soup, a signature dish with tender shrimp is pefect for any lunch or rainy day. Vietnamese Pho will bring you back to health after a night of drinking or a bout of flu. Ladies, do you want traditional oriental with a cool flair? The Bird's Nest is as attracive as it's tasty. All appetizers I've trued are packed with flavor. "Tour of Asia" for $25 gets you a bit of every appetizer & feeds 2. Luch specials run $8 - the right price for just the right portions. add a buck for a hand rolled Imperial Roll or my fave, a Spring Roll with homemade peanut sauce.
Mr. Brian, the owner, has put a lot of passion into this venture. Talk to him and let him suggest a dish or pair a wine. He has educated me to waht great Asian food is all about. No fancy advertising or gimmicks, just delectable fare served with care in a comfortable atmosphere. Want the word of mouth about A Taste of Asia? It's Ohmmm, and it's coming from an increasing number of smiling, contented faces with half opened eyes.
