Think Twice Style: Thrift love

I know I’ve spoken before about the bliss that is thrift hunting, but y’all … the legend continues.

Hidden in a rack full of hideous dresses at a Goodwill in Scottsdale was this gem. DVF. My size. In perfect condition. Thank you to whoever got rid of this dress! I appreciate your waste. Your trash, my treasure!

IMG_6269 IMG_6281The ease of the perfect toss-and-go dress is indescribable, but I will do my best. It never wrinkles. It is forgiving. It is patient as you pass over it “because you just wore it yesterday.” It does not boast about being perfect for any occasion, but knows it is anyway. It knows that it will only take but a few inches in your suitcase and does not even mind that you use your otherwise saved space for foolish things you will never wear. In short, it is the best.

I paired this devil of a mini with simple accessories to keep the pattern and cotton candy-colored print the focus. Coming from a girl who loves wearing grey, this much color needed to be toned down for my own peace of mind. Nude or bone-colored heels dress up the shift and make it more upscale, while flat sandals could easily make it right for an early dinner. It’s too hot out for any heavy jewelry, so keep it light with delicate gold touches. The more minimal, the better. Keep your nails clean or neutral pinkish-white. Perhaps the best perk to a dress like this is that it feels like nothing, and looks like everything.
