Think Twice Style: Summer brights

Summer at the office: battling the sweltering heat outside and the freeze-out game going on inside. It’s a constant struggle! Air conditioning is wonderful, but a pain in the hypothetical wardrobe behind. Planning for the afternoon sweat fest the minute you open your car door at the end of the day is hard to do when you walk into your office in the morning and the cold air hits you like an iceberg. Carrying or wearing a jacket or sweater in June sounds insane, but you know the feeling.

IMG_5076An easy summer LBD is the perfect solution to your hot/cold dilemma! Find something that is a cotton or linen blend in a flattering shape for your body. I prefer shift dresses because 1) they do not touch you, 2) they generally work with or without a waist-defining belt, depending on your mood, and 3) they always look good no matter what. To combat the cool indoor temps, toss on a bright blazer. Sure, you could wear a traditional navy or black coat, but a loud color gives your look an extra punch. If you can’t be poolside among your bright pool floaties, you might as well bring a bit of summer inside!

How do you beat the temperature wars of summer in the South?

The Breakdown:
