Call me Scarlett O’Hara, call me a von Trapp … I’m wearing drapes. Or maybe it’s a tablecloth? Truthfully, I cannot remember. All I know is that finding old lace at Goodwill is my favorite sport to play.
I am a huge fan of repurposing old things. During the cooler months, you can usually find me at garage sales around town digging through boxes of other people’s junk. Your trash = my treasure. This revamp job has to be one of my favorites! Once it was finished, though, I decided to dye it from its original eggshell white to lavender. My original plan was an attempt at the ole ombre trend. That was not working so well, except that the bottom few inches are slightly darker and more blue than the rest of the dress. It did not turn out perfect, but I love it anyway!
The bell sleeves are, to put it gently, a huge nuisance. But they dance well and sometimes, that’s all that matters.
