The second best time of the year* is already upon us: Jazz Fest! While you are prepping your schedule for the second weekend and figuring out how to see everyone you want to see, you are probably also trying to figure out what to wear. The weather is going to be sunny and hot and humid and maybe even rainy by Sunday. Be prepared.
I kept to the basics for this post, however, so remember to pack a disposable poncho and sunscreen! I always like to keep a cheapie wash cloth in a Ziploc to soak in water and put around my neck in emergency situations. #PrincessProblems, but it works!
Let’s start with shorts. Sure, cutoffs are easy and on trend, but denim is so hot. A pair of linen track shorts are both cute and breathable—the perfect South Louisiana combination. A breezy tank on top is an easy choice. I don’t know about you, but having my arms covered when I am hot is like living in a bearskin … pure torture. Cheap flip flops are a good choice for the trek to and from the fairgrounds, but slip them in your purse once you get inside. Dusty tracks and dirty feet are uncool, so close-toed shoes are best. Your best bet is a pair of sneakers that are already an earthy color so they still look decent by the end of the day.
