Local lululemon ambassadors share the game-changing fitness apparel they’ve discovered

Sometimes, what you wear during a workout is just as important as the workout itself.

Since the opening of its first standalone store in Baton Rouge last year, lululemon athletica has helped customers find the right bottoms, tops and even sports bras to positively impact a workout.

The store also has a small group of local ambassadors—athletes and/or fitness entrepreneurs who are making a difference in the community.

We spoke with four of those local leaders about their favorite pieces from the brand. lululemon.com

Align Pant_DSC5341Women’s Align pant, $98

“The fabric is incredibly soft and they’re often referred to as ‘the butter pants’ by me and other teachers at Pure Barre. They are high waisted and stay put during every type of workout from Pure Barre, yoga and even our cardio-based class Platform.”

Mary Daniel Rives, owner/instructor at Pure Barre Baton Rouge

RepetitionMen’s Repetition short, $78

“Great four-way stretch, pockets on my quads to hold extra nutrition for my ultramarathons and very quick-drying.”

Jason Jeffirs, FreshJunkie manager and ultramarathoner

Pace Breaker Short_DSC7436Men’s Pace Breaker short with Luxtreme liner, $78

“As a fitness professional, it is important to me that my shorts not only perform well but they also look sharp. Whether I’m lifting weights, running, rowing, doing body-weight movements or coaching a class, these shorts do their job, look sharp and perform well.”

Hayden Clark, owner/manager at Iron Tribe Baton Rouge

Energy Bra H20_DSC7369 (1)Women’s Energy Bra, $48

“With the hot Louisiana weather, it’s very easy to work up a sweat. The straps on the Energy Bra allow my skin to breathe while still offering lots of support for my CrossFit workouts.”

Amber Leonard, owner/coach at Geaux Crossfit
