Clean out your closet for a cause! A clothing swap to benefit the NOLA Fashion Council is slated for Saturday evening at the Kenneth Brown Design office on Lafayette Street. The event is hosted by Think Twice Style and NOLAFC. Here's how it works: Participants drop off a minimum of four clothing or accessory items between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, at which time they receive a ticket for every item contributed. Then, at 5 p.m., the event kicks off. Each ticket serves as currency for another item. Other perks on the agenda include an Aveda giveaway, door prizes and cocktails. Art meets fashion tomorrow at the Annieglass trunk show, taking place at Carriages Ladies Store. Trunk show with exotic charm

Collectible jewelry with worldwide appeal will be on display April 24 at Kiki in Perkins Rowe. The boutique will host a trunk show highlighting the wares of Dodo, a line of Italian charms, cords and bracelets, named for the now extinct flightless bird of Mauritius. Each charm has its own meaning, and can be worn alone or in a mix—whichever strikes your fancy. A portion of proceeds from the collection benefits the World Wildlife Fund Italy, a fact that more than charms us.

With its new moniker in place, Vertage Clothing is launching an online sister store. The website will offer the same fashion-forward items found in the Lee Drive boutique, plus additional styles, sizes and colors. Cinderella Project accepting donations

If the purchase of a new Mardi Gras gown has you assessing your crammed closet, consider this charitable way to free up some space: Donate your gently used gowns to The Cinderella Project! The nonprofit is teaming up with YMCA of the Capital Area for a Winter Dress Drop-off event. Cocktail and formal dresses, as well as wedding gowns, will be accepted at all eight Baton Rouge area YMCA branches between Jan. 19 and Jan. 27.
