LSU accessories at Kendra Scott

Kendra Scott is currently selling purple and gold necklaces and earrings. With LSU fans counting down the days until the Tigers take the field, there may be no better time than now to stock up on game-day accessories. Don’t quite see what you’re looking for? Customers can design their own jewelry at the Perkins Rowe store’s Color Bar. Tiffany Ford, manager of Kendra Scott, says in addition to honing its LSU inventory, the store has recently begun offering the GlamRocks collection, “a nod to 1970s glamour, modern-day music festivals and midnight dance parties.”

Summer Sale at Acadian Village

Edit by LBP, Baby Bump, and Air Blow Dry Bar are collaborating tonight to host a special event. Cordless lamps go where you want

Dark spaces sans electrical outlets have met their match. Modern Lantern, a husband-and-wife startup based in Fort Worth, Texas, sells cordless, battery-operated lamps online and is offering a discount of $100 through Aug. 4 on select products. The chic lamps come in classic shades of red, off-white, blue, bronze, and more. Each comes with a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 18 hours.

On trend: Vertical gardening

Vertical gardening is limited only to the imagination, says Gordon Mese, owner of Garden District Nursery. “As long as you have water, some sun, soil and a source of food, you can pretty much grow plants anywhere,” he says. The space-saving idea can be executed through hanging baskets, PVC pipes, wood pallets, stacked pots, and more. Though Garden District Nursery is temporarily closed for the month, Mese recommends first-timers start by planting herbs and tomatoes in August.

Leisure baking class at LCI

The Louisiana Culinary Institute is hosting a cooking class with Chef Derrick Beverly on Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This leisure class for those new to baking will cover how to make pound cake, carrot cake, and yellow and chocolate cake from scratch. Best of all, the tasty treats students make will go home with them! Participants are asked to wear closed-toe shoes. Register here.

Charcuterie, PÔtÚs, and RosÚs

The Bella Bowman Foundation will benefit from a special event happening tonight at 7 p.m. at Restaurant IPO. Both floors of IPO will be open for Charcuterie, PÓtÚs, and RosÚs. Proceeds from a silent auction will be donated to the nonprofit, which supports innovative research into treatments for pediatric brain cancer.
