Bengals and Bandits opens pop-up shop

Bengals and Bandits has opened a second location—a pop-up shop inside the Dyson House on Jefferson Highway. The Dyson House sells antiques, collectibles, home décor, and other one-of-a-kind items, while Bengals and Bandits sells LSU-themed merchandise and apparel. Local ladies writing cookbook

Lauren Beth Slowik, co-founder of Country Table Delivery, a local business that brings fresh produce straight to the front doors of its members, is partnering up with Erin Nugent to pen a cookbook. The women plan to release Five Seasons next year. Recipes will pertain to seasonal produce, but also include dishes that can be made year-round. The Louisiana Art and Science Museum is gearing up for its 29th annual gala, Party at the Pyramid. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 at the museum and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy delicious buffet fare, tempting auction items, and music by Ned Fasullo and the Fabulous Big Band Orchestra. Fall festivities for kids

The Corn Maze at Burden is happening this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27-28, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Family-friendly activities include the maze, pumpkin painting, balloon tosses, a petting zoo, and more.
