Kendra Scott celebrates opening

Designer and entrepreneur Kendra Scott is attending the grand opening celebration of her Perkins Rowe store tonight, Sept. 18. The public is invited to take part in festivities from 6 until 8 p.m., featuring cocktails, champagne, a photo booth, prizes, and more. The Baton Rouge location—the first in Louisiana of 15 stores nationwide—will also donate 20% of sales tonight to the American Cancer Society.



Mint turns two

Mint is hosting an event tonight, Sept. 18, in honor of its second anniversary. But you'll want to stop by the Corporate Boulevard shop before the 6 p.m. celebration. Those who make a purchase will be entered to win an item from Mint Home, Mint Shoes, or Mint Art. Winners must be present at the party to claim their prize.

Rabalais Run for Life

The Rabalais Law Firm is hosting its annual 5K race on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Proceeds from Rabalais Run for Life benefit the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, an organization whose mission is to save and enhance lives through organ and tissue donations. Top Hat Soiree

The LSO Foundation’s annual Top Hat Soiree is Friday night, Sept. 19, at the Baton Rouge Gallery. The evening benefits the nonprofit in its mission to raise skin cancer awareness. Activities begin at 7 p.m. and include a silent auction, music, cocktails, food, and more. Guests are encouraged to don their favorite festive hat for the occasion.



O’Brien House breakfast

The O’Brien House is hosting its 12th annual breakfast Thursday, Sept. 25, with guest speaker Susan Ford Bales, daughter of the late President Gerald Ford. Bales will tell the story of her mother’s struggle and recovery from addiction to alcohol at this reservation-only event, which begins at 8 a.m. at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center.
