Look to the East for new decor

From fanciful chinoiserie to intricate fretwork patterns, chic looks borrowed from Asia are hotter than ever in the world of home design. Best of all, these touches work well in both contemporary and traditional decorating schemes. Add a little or a lot—test the waters with a ceramic candle or pagoda-adorned stationery, or go all in with bold printed wallpaper. Check out our picks of Eastern-influenced items in inRegister's October issue here.

Southern Garden Marketplace

The Southern Garden Marketplace is open to the public for two days next week, Oct. 22-23. The sale is happening at the Crowne Plaza from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., in conjunction with the Southern Region Master Gardener conference.
