Baton Rouge native and LSU alumna Holly Emery Thaggard, who in 2007 launched a skincare product line focusing on UV protection called Supergoop!, has announced that tennis superstar Maria Sharapova has invested in the company and is now a co-owner. With Sharapova's formal involvement, Thaggard says the San Antonio-based brand plans to expand internationally over the next five years. Gourmet in the Garden set for April 25

Enjoy a dinner among the roses and under the stars at Gourmet in the Garden. This unique event is slated for Friday, April 25, from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m. at the Burden Museum and Gardens. More than a dozen local chefs will prepare gastronomic delights throughout the Botanic Gardens. The evening will feature a competition between Louisiana Culinary Institute student chefs and a "People's Choice" tasting competition among various area chefs.
